Easy Overnight Oats a la SHE Day: LA Style

Easy overnight oats look extra elegantly delicious in a coconut bowl! No hint of the fact you simply dumped a few ingredients together the night before! 

For SHE Day: LA we had so much fun serving overnight oats up for breakfast! We used our mom's recipe with her extra ingredients in it! It was so fun to share with everyone alongside a toppings bar of all our favorite nutritious breakfast-worthy toppings!  

Our mom will tell you that adding the pinch of salt is important for flavor. Salt-less oats taste pretty blah! Jennifer will tell you that adding salt puts minerals to your dish right when your body really needs them in the morning and is an important addition for that reason! 

Check out the easy recipe below! 


If you are using quick cut oats:
    - 1/4 cup organic quick oats
    - 1/3 cup+ organic almond or coconut milk
If you are using steel cut oats:
    - 1/2 cup organic steel cut oats
    - 1 cup organic almond or coconut milk
1 tsp maple syrup (you can also add stevia, raw honey, or sweetener of choice)
1/8 tsp Frontier almond extract
1/4 tsp Frontier cinnamon
1 pinch Frontier Himalayan Pink Salt

Purely Elizabeth Ancient Grains Granola
Navitas Cacao Nibs
Sliced Oranges (or fruit of preference) from  Imperfect Produce (an awesome delivery service in LA, Seattle, Portland, and Chicago coming soon!).


Mix together the oats, milk,  maple syrup, almond extract, cinnamon, and salt into a mason jar or air tight container. Mix well. Refrigerate overnight (or for a minimum of 2 hours for quick oats and 6 hours for steel cut oats). 

When you're ready to eat it, give it a good mix before adding toppings. You can add additional liquid if desired. Add toppings and enjoy!
